Choosing the Right Rail for Your Project
Steel rails are the most critical component of any railway infrastructure. Selecting the appropriate rail grade, profile, and standard is essential for ensuring safety, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
Major Rail Standards
- EN 13674 (European Standard): Covers UIC 60 (60E1), UIC 54 (54E1), S49, and other European profiles. Specifies chemical composition, mechanical properties, and dimensional tolerances.
- AREMA (American Railway Engineering): Defines rail profiles including 136RE, 141RE, and 115RE for North American applications.
- AS 1085 (Australian Standard): Governs rail specifications for Australian railway networks.
- GB/T 2585 (Chinese Standard): Covers Chinese rail profiles including CHN60, CHN50, and others.
Rail Grades
Common rail grades include R260 (standard grade), R350HT (heat-treated for heavy haul applications), and premium grades for high-speed and heavy-haul railways. The choice of grade depends on traffic volume, axle loads, and speed requirements.
RailTech Vision supplies rails from certified manufacturers meeting all major international standards. We provide mill test certificates, third-party inspection reports, and full traceability for every order. Standard rail lengths range from 12m to 100m (continuously welded), with custom lengths available upon request.
